Carpenter and maker
Elliot Davies
My working life began with an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, where I gained a strong foundation in making and problem-solving. Although it taught me a great deal, I knew I didn’t want to spend my life in a factory, so I moved into the building trades and eventually started my own carpentry business, Wellow Carpentry. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked across a wide range of skills—from welding to plastering—but timber has always stood out. After experiencing most of the trades, I’ve found that working with solid wood is by far the most enjoyable and rewarding. I now focus on integrating timber into landscapes through gates, benches, pergolas, staircases, and more. Roots Countryside Management can turn your trees into whatever you can imagine, supported by our mobile sawmill, joinery workshop, and mobile carpentry tools. I’m excited to hear how we can help bring your future timber ideas to life!

The Wild Gardener
Harvey Sullivan
Harvey is a highly trained, forward thinking gardener with a passion for creating ecological, functional and edible spaces for people to enjoy. He has trained in some of the mid/south of Englands most prestigious gardens including Hampshire’s beloved Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. He has recently used his skills to help install a large scale garden in the new forest, designed by world renowned garden designer Tom Stewart-Smith. Harvey is looking forward to working with Roots to deliver a gardening service like none other. He has special interests in wildlife ponds, swimming ponds, edible land landscapes, spiritual gardening and garden design.

Arborist
Rob Macleod
I have been a trained arborist for the last 12 years holding a variety of positions within the Arboricultural industry. My experience varies from technical aerial climbing and ground-based tree care operations, to sawmill and timber construction. My interests and topics of study have been in the preservation and understanding of trees both in urban and rural settings, with the main goal of promoting healthy native landscapes where possible. We’ve built an all encompassing service offering a variety of skills to bring your outdoor spaces and projects to life!
